BY MISSY CHASE LAPINE

"A brilliant and timely concept." - Chef Daniel Boulud
"If you feed picky eaters, check out 'The Sneaky Chef.'" - St. Paul Pioneer Press
"For all her healthy intentions, Lapine is realistic, too." - Houston Chronicle

For parents of picky eaters, the April 2007 release of The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids' Favorite Meals provided a much needed reprieve from dinner time drama. By giving parents simple, tested solutions for hiding healthy foods in the meals kids crave, The Sneaky Chef catapulted on to the New York Times' bestseller list within a week of release.

Hundreds of women wrote to author Missy Chase Lapine (aka The Sneaky Chef) to express their gratitude, but it soon became apparent that their children were not the only ones in the family not eating right. Their husbands, fathers, boyfriends, and brothers were also culprits! While men know they should eat better, they are often resistant to fruit and vegetables, and claim they need something more substantial to satisfy their appetite.

As a result, The Sneaky Chef went back to the kitchen and developed healthy, hearty recipes that every guy is sure to love, for THE SNEAKY CHEF: HOW TO CHEAT ON YOUR MAN (IN THE KITCHEN) (Running Press; 978-0-7624-3320-9; Paperback; April 2008). Designed to help women assist the men in their lives who consistently make poor dietary choices, the book features recipes that successfully cloak healthy ingredients to target men's heath issues - foods proven to help the heart, lower cholesterol, and ensure a healthy prostate - in only the most macho dishes.

Featured recipes include:

  • Barbell Burger - Secretly pump-up the burgers at his next backyard cookout by adding raw baby spinach and fresh or frozen blueberries.
  • Fearless Fried Chicken - No one will guess this crispy, finger-licking treat is tricked-out with sweet potatoes and carrots!
  • Doctor's Choice Chili - Raw baby spinach, broccoli florets, and sweat green peas can absolutely disappear in this firehouse favorite!
  • Refried Bean Macho Nachos - Nachos are so utterly macho, who would ever suspect that zucchini and cauliflower are hidden inside?

Now everyone in the family can benefit from The Sneaky Chef's bag of tricks!
