Hi Missy,
My soon to be four year old and my six year old were discussing over lunch (which included Sneaky Chef No-Nut Butter and jelly sandwiches) whether the sneaky chef was real. My oldest was sure that there was no real sneaky chef. My younger child insisted that there was. I told them that indeed she was and I would show them her picture on one of the packages. My three year old held up his sandwich and said "it's my favorite, can you call the sneaky chef and tell her thank you?" So, I'm doing just that. Thank you! From a food-loving free spirited three year old whose world was turned upside down when we received his nut allergy diagnosis this year. And from a mom, who tries her best to keep life fun and healthy and full of choices for that three year old.

Veggie Aversion Solved
"Dear Missy,
I wanted to thank you for your contribution to the health of my family. Both of my boys have a vegetable aversion. With The Sneaky Chef and The Sneaky Chef to the Rescue I am having so much fun sneaking veggies into their food. They've loved every recipe I've made, and I've made many. They don't detect a thing!

I've made Fridays my sneaky ingredient day. For example, today I made a froze lentil puree, white bean puree and orange puree. Now, I'm all set to go for next week!

So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your recipes. I look forward to more in the future!

SIMPLE & SNEAKY WEEKDAY WAFFLES

It’s a funny thing about making homemade waffles—they’re actually quicker than homemade pancakes! So long as you have a decent waffle iron, they cook themselves with less effort than standing at a griddle waiting and flipping flapjacks. I make several batches and freeze them in zip-top plastic bags, then presto, toaster waffles any weekday morning!

 

Makes 4 waffles
--3 tablespoons liquid egg white or 1 large egg
--1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 
--1⁄4 teaspoon salt
--1⁄2 cup applesauce
--1⁄2 cup Sneaky Chef Orange Puree (sweet potato/carrot)
--1 cup packaged whole-grain pancake mix 
--3⁄4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, optional
--Low-fat milk, as needed
--Maple syrup

 

Preheat a waffle iron to medium high and spray with oil.

 

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla, salt, applesauce and Puree. Mix in the blueberries, if using, and pancake mix, adding milk, as needed, to make a fairly thick batter...
